Neue Publikation: Retrospektive Analyse von 131 stage IV Krebspatienten

In Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy ist gerade eine neue Publikation von R. Kleef et al. erschienen:
"Low-dose ipilimumab plus nivolumab combined with IL-2 and hyperthermia in cancer patients with advanced disease: exploratory findings of a case series of 131 stage IV cancers – a retrospective study of a single institution".

Das Behandlungsprotokoll umfasst lokoregionäre und Ganzkörperhyperthermie, individuell dosis-adaptiertes Interleukin 2 (IL-2) kombiniert mit low-dose Ipilimumab (0.3 mg/kg) plus Nivolumab (0.5 mg/kg). Die "fever-range" Ganzkörperhyperthermie wurde mit heckel-HT3000 durchgeführt.
Die Autoren stellen zur Diskussion, dass die Toxizität der Immuntherapie mit Checkpointinhibitoren in dem beschriebenen kombinierten Protokoll durch Dosisreduzierung erheblich geringer sei, ohne die Wirksamkeit zu beeinträchtigen.

Gute Ansprechraten konnten auch in Krebsentitäten beobachtet werden, bei denen die Immuntherapie mit Checkpointinhibitorenoch nicht als Standardtherapie etabliert ist.
